Welcome and My May TBR!

Hi and welcome to my book blog!

This is my first official post. Like I said in my about me page I want this to be a positive place where we can come and exchange thoughts and feelings about the books we love or maybe just slightly enjoyed. I love helping others find a new adventure and I also love hearing about the adventures they have been on.

For my first post, I want to share some of the books I plan on reading during May. I am still working from home right now (because of the thing who shall not be named) so I have extra time in my days to get some reading done.

Let's start with my current read:

Without giving away too many spoilers from the first book Nevernight. This book follows our main character Mia Corvere who is one of the most badass characters you will ever come across. Following the events in Nevernight, Mia has found her place in the Blades of Our lady of the Blessed Murder, but most believe she hasn’t earned it. Her mission to end the men who destroyed her family is far from over. With new alliances and new missions, this book promises to be a wild tale.

Next is Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle #1) By Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

This book is about Tyler Jones who is at the top of his class at Cadet school he should have the pick of his dream squad. But on the day of his graduation, he is late because he stops to help a human girl. Ending in him getting stuck with the dregs that nobody else in the Academy wanted. Madness ensues and this band of misfits might be the last hope for the entire galaxy. The sequel Aurora Burning just came out at the beginning of May.

The third book on my May TBR is Obsidio (The Illuminae Files #3) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Again, without giving any spoilers for the first two books, this is a book series that is written in a unique style. The dialog is all mixed media, it is highly recommended by others to listen to the audiobook and follow along with the physical book. I don’t do that I enjoy reading them on its own. This is a young adult sci-fi series where each book follows a different pair of characters, but they all play into each other in different ways. This book follows our main characters Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nick after sperate attacks on their home planet and their space stations. Now that our characters are all together with a couple of new additions, how will this space opera play out? And what will happen during this final battle with the BeiTech enemy?

The last set of books I hope to read in May in the second and third installments to the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire, Down Among the Sticks and Bones, and Beneath the Sugar Sky. This is a very unique YA, fantasy, and mystery series. Each story is following a different set of characters, who enter a magical land through doorways that only become visible to that child. If a child leaves, they forever live their lives waiting and seeking a way back to their fantasy world.

Those are my reading plans for May. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you plan on reading this month. And follow me on Instagram @amanda1533 to follow my month reading progress.
